Dear Humanitarian,
The Pet Safety and Protection Act (H.R. 2224), introduced by Rep. Mike Doyle (D-PA) and Chris Smith (R-NJ), prohibits random-source Class B dealers from selling dogs and cats for use in experiments. Under this abuse-ridden system, a small number of unscrupulous dealers supply labs with non-purpose-bred dogs and cats. So-called random source Class B dealers and their middleman cohorts, called “bunchers,” acquire the dogs and cats they sell from a variety of sources. They keep the animals in horrendous conditions, routinely violate the Animal Welfare Act, obtain animals through fraud, deception, and outright theft, and falsify their records. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, which licenses and regulates these dealers, has acknowledged that it is unable to guarantee that dogs and cats collected and sold by these dealers are not being illegally acquired.

Please ask your representative to cosponsor H. R. 2224 to protect companion animals and establish integrity in the provision of dogs and cats for research purposes. Heroes, Cats Have Them

I feel like I focus too much on the negative acts of mankind. LOL For real though.
Animal abuse and neglect are two of the worst things in this entire world to me. I am not the kind of person who has the ability to just look away. That would be impossible to me if I thought an animal needed my help. I would do the same for a person too of course, anyone who is alive and breathing, animal or person would get my attention. I say that because there are people out there that automatically think that because a person is FOR animal rights, it's like they can't be for human rights also.  I am for both. LOL

And right now I want to turn your attention to some Humans that always go that extra mile for people and for animals....Firefighters.
Today I was surfin' the net and came across an image that gave me the idea for this post, it was a firefighter saving a cat in Moore, Ok after the tornado.
I have to say, this warmed my heart so much and when I went looking for more images I couldn't believe how many I found, this flippin made my day. The fact that these guys and gals risk their lives everyday for us has always made me proud but today, I have even more respect for these incredible people who serve our communities.

I think for most people who share their lives with animals, it's safe to say that they share their hearts with them as well. Our animals mean a great deal to us, sometimes, they are even like children to us. The fact that Firefighters know this and do everything they can to save our little friends is amazing. They risk their lives for ALL of our family members.

So here are few of the most incredible photos I could find today on Firefighters saving Cats. I will do a Dog one too so no worries. LOL

 Mikey said we have to do the cats first and well, it's his house ya know. LOL

I think we all have a Hero in these beautiful human beings.

The problem in our society is that we just don't look.... so we don't see.

Why is it that most people refuse to look at the suffering that animals go through?
"I just can't watch those video's" they say or "I don't need to see that stuff", "It won't change anything if I see it".
Interesting how we can't bring ourselves to watch it because it's too awful yet we go to that grocery store everyday and buy the meat, the eggs, the milk and never give two hoots about what it must be like for the animal that had to suffer through it.

The problem in our society is that we just don't look.... so we don't see.

If we had to watch what really happens behind the scenes, I believe most people would not be eating what we eat today or buying products that we use everyday.  Instead of facing the reality we stick our heads in the  clouds and pretend all is right with the world but inside we know that this place is very sick, even if we don't look at it. And it's not just about the meat, it's about the fur, the testing, the neglect, the whole attitude that animal suffering is just not the same as human suffering but even if it is so different as many claim, why would any suffering be ok especially when it is within our own power to stop it?

Will it ever stop?

I came across this Pinterest page tonight and found the courage to look through it. Maybe you will find the courage too and then maybe someday soon we will all have the courage to stand up and do what we know is right...and finally stop the suffering...because they should not have to suffer this way.

The Cutest Puppy EVER!

Before I even begin to tell you about him, first let me introduce you to him...this is Cody....

This is what he looks like now, or at least what he looked like a week or so ago....He is about 8 weeks old.

And here he is about a week or so before that......around six weeks old...

And it only gets cuter....

And Today he is Ten years Old

On this day ten years ago...I found a friend in you, yet you are the one who chose me.

Life has just been better because of you. My days brighter, my nights never lonely.

I don't think I have ever looked at you in all these ten years without smiling.

The laughter that you have brought into my life has saved me more times than I can count.

I adore all of your little kitty ways, even the one's that are not always convenient; like pawing at my face at 3am with that startling deaf meow of yours, though that meow has been my alarm clock for many years now, at your 7am pawing.

People may assume that because I am the human in this friendship, that I would be the one in charge...but that has never really been true now has it?

You have clearly been in charge for about ten years now.

But that's not a bad thing because your wishes are my wishes too.

I love loving you even when you are telling me what to do.

Some have even tried to say that you are demanding but to me...you are just a very good communicator.

Ok, sometimes, I know you are working me but the thing is....I'm good with that

If you get every single thing you ever want in this life, then I will have succeeded in showing you my gratitude....for that day that you chose me.
